Identity check for every member

Before anyone can browse or be seen, they type their full name and a short statement of intention, upload a photo of an ID and take a live selfie while making a pose we choose. Our team compares them by hand with the profile photo. The ID and selfie images are deleted as soon as the check is done. Verified members carry a badge.

What happens to your ID and selfie

We know that sending an ID is a big step, so here is exactly what happens to it.

• Who sees them: only our review team. Other members never see your ID, your selfie or your full name.
• Where they are kept: in private storage with our hosting provider, never on a public page or link.
• Your full name and statement: kept encrypted in our database, and used only if a safety concern is reported.
• When they are deleted: as soon as the check is done, whether it is approved or not. If a check has not been reviewed within 30 days, the images are deleted automatically.
• Your ID number: you may cover it. We only need your photo, name and date of birth.
• How long it takes: checks are done by hand and usually take a day or two. We email you when it is done.

Photos only for verified members

Profile photos are reviewed before they are shown, and only members whose identity is confirmed can see them.

Verified email

Every member confirms their email address.

Respectful conversations

Chats open only when a request is accepted. The person who writes first can send one message until the other replies. We gently warn members when a message seems to contain contact details early on. Every profile and chat has Block and Report buttons, and every report is read.

Money

Never send money, gifts or financial details to someone you have not met, and report anyone who asks. Answers about money are shared only with members you are connected to.

Meeting in person

Meet in a public place, tell a friend or relative where you are going, arrange your own travel, and leave if anything feels wrong. Involve your family whenever you feel ready.
